You Don’t Want Change

September 3rd, 2008 · 2 Comments

With all the talk about the DNC last week and the RNC this week on the blogsphere and Twitterville. It got me thinking about something.

The Democrats area all about change, changing Washington, changing the status quo, changing the economy, changing the war in Iraq, changing whatever needs to change.

But I said to myself “Self, Do American really wanted change?”

My conclusion? AMERICANS YOU DON’T WANT CHANGE. You like things just the way they are - FUCKED UP!- Because if things changed, for the better (can they get much worst?) you wouldn’t have anything to complain about, everything would be just hunky-dory. Hell 90% of the blogs out there would have to change there format.

It amazes me that we still have only 2 MAJOR political parties in this great land. With 2 parties you get polar opposites of every issue. You never get a change to look at both sides and say:

“I like this parties idea on this issue, but I also like that parties idea also. Wouldn’t it be great if someone would take both ideas and run on that ticket?”

If you really wanted TRUE CHANGE you would start voting for a third or even fourth party that takes the best ideas, from ALL parties, that would solve a problem, and merge them into one solution to a problem that everyone could agree upon.

But that will never happen because people are afraid of real TRUE change.

You want change?

YOU CAN’T HANDLE CHANGE!

Now before you start yelling about throwing your votes away on a losing candidate, or just picking your canidate based on who the media cover more, or becasue vegas gave better odds on who would win. You need to seach out ALL of the parites see what they stand for and vote for who you think best represents you. If its one of the 2 dominate parties good for you. If not, then seek out another candidate. Not just at this election but in ALL elections at ALL levels of govenment. Even down to your local PTA or school board.

You don’t need to know what gender they are unless your a sexist pig. You dont need to know their age unless your an ageist prick. You don’t need to know if they are able bodied or not, unless your a person who hates the handicapped (is there a term for that?) You don’t need to know what race they are, unless your a racist. (I refuse to stoop to a level that is beneethe me and link to bloggers the way they link to me when they like to throw around insuts.) All you need to know is if they stand for the issues like you do. If so, vote for them if not get a blog and bad mouth them, like every other jerk off who thinks there opinion is more important that yours. (again refusing to link.)

Or make a lot of money and run for office yourself.

Am I wrong? Tell me

Yes. You are wrong. There aren’t two polar opposite parties in this country. Careful consideration of both Obama and McCain show that their state policies aren’t really that different. Obama says he a wants “change” but he hasn’t really proposed any real change.

But your right about one thing. American’s don’t want real change. Because change is scary. Real change would mean people would have to start taking care of themselves and their neighbors, rather than outsourcing that responsibility to “the government.” And I think we all know that American are just too damn lazy to do things for themselves.
