Weekend Update

October 15th, 2007 · No Comments

Good evening everyone and welcome to my Weekend Update post where I regale you with exciting stories and happenings from my weekends. These weekend update post seem to be my most popular. I get the most hits on Mondays (and Fridays). I bet ya’ll like to sit around your office and discuss what I did or what I should’ve done and laugh at my misfortune. I like to think that you’re just jealous that I’m more awesome than you. Whateva!

Lets get right to this shall we?

Friday I stayed home and caught up with all of the TV that I missed during the week, because I worked a lot of overtime last week. After doing that I set up a Twitter account. So now I can update both my status’s (statsui?) on this blog and my Facebook. Which I think is pretty cool. You can follow, i.e. stalk me, on twitter and have text messages sent to your cell whenever I update my status. Or you can do nothing and like it.

Saturday was the Pub Crawl for Cancer. This is my third and I would have to say my most memorable, (mostly because it was yesterday.) We started at the Westport Flea Market, where we watched Iowa beat Illinois, and since most of my team was made up of girls from Iowa they were all pretty happy about their win. But none wanted to celebrate by taking off their shirts. One of them said “We won a football game, not the National fucking Championship.” To which I replied “So if it was the National Championship you would take off your shirt?” “Yup” she said. Then the subject was quickly changed before it got really awkward.

The team consisted of me and 2 other dudes. One dude had his girlfriend on the team. So that meant it was just going to be me and one other dude hitting on these Iowa girls. As far as the girls go only only 2 lived in Kansas City.

The Team

It was raining when we left that bar and headed to the tent that was set up across the street from The Beaumont Club, consumed our five pitchers, then headed to a new bar in Westport called The Piano Bar. It’s in the same spot that the old Cactus Café was located. This is the first bar of its kind in Kansas City that I know of, it’s commonly known as “dueling piano bar”. If you haven’t been to this type of bar you’re missing out on a good time. They basically get 2 super douche bags that know how to play the piano and can kind of sing, throw them in front of a piano and tell them to play your standard drunk party songs like, Love Shack, Sweet Caroline, Margaritaville, just to name a few. It’s good time.

Why would this be closed?

Then we made our way to the Buzzard Beach, or the Buzz as I like to call it. This is where the drunk texting started and continued until late into the morning hours. I also got a call from my buddy Optumis Prime which I was not expecting. After we hit all of the bars on our list we went to the Beaumont Club for the after party and more beer.

Crazy PACKED!

I took over 50 pictures but I’m not about to post them all here. Plus I’m going to try to get to bed before one tonight so I’ll just let the pic do the talking. Here’s just a few.

Pretty sure I was holding up the whole team so I had to chug!! I’m not kidding, I drank that whole pitcher. But I didn’t “chug” the whole thing.

If you notice on my shirt has no spillage, that’s cause I know what I’m doing.

At the after party at the Beaumont Club. Everyone else was in line for the bathroom.

After the after Party we went to the dark Horse for some shots and Power Hour.

Salu!

Why aren’t they drinking?

Andi (from Iowa)

If you haven’t ever done this pub crawl you really should it a good time.

Sunday I watched the Chiefs win and then took a nap.

Have a nice week. And thanks for reading.
