Page 11 – 2012 Races

I’m just going to go ahead and assume that I’ll be running 5k’s by March. That is unless I get hit by a car AGAIN!

I’ve used this web site in the past for the entire schedule of races though out the spring, summer, and fall.

Criteria:

  1. It MUST be for charity. The charity doesn’t matter. I’m not going to run one of those stupid obstacle courses that are put on by a for profit company. Most of the people that do those courses walk between the obstacles anyway. If I wanted to do that, I could do itright now with no training.
  2. Tee-shirt! I must get a tee-shirt.
  3. I’d like it to be in the Kansas City metro area unless it’s a 10k or longer.
  4. I’ll try to do one or two a month.

These are in random order.

The St. Patrick’s Day 4 miler – Let start off with a long one (that is what she said) technically not a 5k but it I’ve heard its a fun run. Route takes you all though Westport, and costumes are encouraged. (I’m not wearing a costume)

Trolley RunBeen there done that. This one is a MUST do if you’re a runner in Kansas City. This one usually signifies the start of the running season.

Hospital Hill 10K- I’ve ran this one before and I think still think the hills are bullshit. But they don’t call it Hospital Hill for nothing. This will be the first of many 10k’s

All-Star Game 5k – I didn’t even know they had a run at the K before today. This sounds kind of fun. If you think Im NOT sliding into home plat then you’re crazy.

These are just some of the bigger races that I’m looking forward to doing this year. I’m sure I’ll do more so stick around. You an read about my past races on the left panel.

Thanks for the link to the KC races site! I’ve been looking for one place that lists most of the races in the area.
