But I have a month to do it so I should have plenty of time.

So, now I can finally start concentrating on what I should have been concentrating on for the past 3 months, and that is my disgusting fat body. I haven’t have time to workout since November of last year, but I’ve kept with the diet, sort of. I’ve still put on weight. Last week I had time to do some running after work. I’ve digressed a lot more than I thought I would in just 5 months time, so I have a lot of work to do before October. That’s when my goal race occurs.

I don’t know what my weight is right now but I’m guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 200-220. I’ll be weighting in after work Monday night. If I weight more than that I might just freak the fuck out. I mean a total postal freak out!

After I weight in Monday I’m going to quite that gym. It sucks, if I lived downtown it would be a lot more convenient. If I live closer it wouldn’t be to bad, but it’s too far to walk. There’s a better gym just 2 blocks from the house with yoga, zumba, (I don’t know what it is either), pilates, and some other classes that I could take but probably won’t, it’s just nice that they are offered at no additional cost, I think. (Sweet! Just looked and the class are free.) Plus this gym might have girls in it which is total bonus, but it’s not like I’d talk to any of them, I’m there to workout not hit on the hot chicks… riiiiiight…

Anyway, The goal has always been the same, to get my BMI into the normal range, which is 18.5-24.9. In order to reach that I have to weight anywhere between 122 lbs  – 161 lbs.  I’ll let you know tomorrow what all the starting numbers are but now you know what the goals are going to be for this year and beyond.

Saturday was my first day off all year and I pretty much just bummed around the house doing nothing. But I did reward myself with a trip to Go Chicken Go. But before I went there I went to the bank to deposit a bunch of checks for this banquet that I take part in the planning of every January. Its not my usual bank so I had to look up the locations on their web site. Come to find out there’s one not to far from the house on Shawnee Drive and 635. So I go to the bank, make the deposit which I’m sure I screwed up the deposit slip. As I was leaving I thought that I’d head over to GCG on 7th street for some gizzards and an extra roll. So I’m thinking that Shawnee drive will get me back to 7Th street. Then I can just head north and hit GCG. As I was coming down the hill from the light at 635 I saw with great surprise that there sat a GCG! I was ASTONISHED! I had no idea that there was a location there! I was so happy I nearly creamed my jeans! Best part is they have a drive-thru! But sadly it doesn’t have the aura of fear surrounding it like the one in downtown KCK. Like the feeling that you might get shot for looking at someone wrong or for wearing the wrong color shirt. That’s what I like about the GCG, I’d like a side of fear with my gizzards.

So on to reward that I bought myself today. I had been wanting a scanner for over 2 years. Mom has one but she won’t let me have it, she doesn’t even know how to use it nor does it even work with her computer. (Her computer is new and no one installed the software drivers for it when C-Boy gave it to her.) So it just sits there like some retarded dufus! So after few minuets of searching and comparing models and ink cost I settled on the HP Office Jet J6480 I then settled on Staples in Ward Parkway Mall and headed over.

As I was planning the trip I thought I’d finally get my hair cut on the way or at least the way home. WRONG, it was an hour wait, screw that! I can get my hair cut any time. So I went to Staples but as per par for the course on anything that I want they were out of stock. But I wanted a new printer/ scanner and I wanted on today. So I settled for the HP Office Jet J4680 Which is just as good, It just doesn’t have all the slots for memory cards. I don’t even use these things any way. So that was no big deal. Then the salesman up sale me with the warranty razzmatazz and I shot that right down. Nuts to that! The basic warranty is just fine.

Here’s the new printer.

They both have the important freatures that I wanted, printer/scanner/copier, and not important of all wireless printing so I could print from my laptop without having to connect a USB cable. I like the fact that I can sit here typing and have just the one power cord attached to the laptop.

And to further reward myself I’m taking this coming Friday off to get new tires for the Envoy and to see the doctor who I am sure will have the worst news possible for me.

Oh and I currently compiling a list for the Airing of Grivences Part 2

                          

So I had my review a few weeks ago with the department manager. Everything is just hunky dory, they appreciate my willingness to work overtime (and I appreciate getting paid time and a half for it), All of the engineers, and project managers that I worked with on the past years projects had all good thing say. But that I could improve in one or 2 areas. Mainly, asking questions about some of the systems and how they work. Guess they don’t realize that I don’t have time to sit around talk about that stuff, my job is to produce drawings. Overall I scored mostly 4’s out of a top score of 5’s in every category.

I laugh at those idiots that walk around telling people that they received all 5’s. Really you scored all 5’s? So you scored the highest that you could? So I guess there’s no room for you to improve? You’re at the top of your game now? Which would mean you shouldn’t get a raise or a bonus because you’re already at the top? Really? WOW? Idiot.

I never want to get a top score on my review because that would mean there would be no room for improvement. I’m already doing the best job possible. Even under the category of appearance , a 5 just says that I’m looking the best I will ever look. which would mean I’m fucked. It would also mean that there is no way to go but down hill.

So on Friday I had a meeting with the department manager, Division VP, and Division President. They go over how the company is doing financially, ESOP and 401K and all that kind of stuff. Then they get to the end of year bonus and raise part. I had forgotten that on the self appraisal I said that “I would rather have a turkey than a huge one lump bonus check. I’d rather have a larger raise.” So the DVP brought that up and I thought “Oh shit, I was just joshing, dude”. But they all thought it was pretty funny. But not REALLY funny. They talked about now my current project was going and how I was impressing the HMFIC’s on the project with my willingness to learn new programs. (Srsly some people flat out refuse to learn new drafting programs). We talked about me moving into more of a leadership role in the department with my experience and age. Developing lunch time classes for some of the other designers, and the younger engineers. They were also impressed with my knowledge of Fire Sprinkler Systems. I guess no one looked at my resume when I first started. I did design them for 6 years for cryin’ out loud.

Anyway I got the raise and an lump bonus check any way, and they didn’t kick me out the door. I was looking over the past raises that I had received and these are the largest I’ve gotten.

And the really effed up part of the whole thing? The whole time I was there, about 15 min, I was mostly thinking about what I had to do next on the current project.

So yea The D just keeps on winning!
