I’m am on the very cusp of getting the Cold of 2008. It started out as just sore throat last night. But this morning it has taken a turn for the worse. Though out the day I have been feeling progressively worse and worse. About 10 am my nose started running and I haven’t been able to catch up with it all day.

When I got home from work I was entering the DEFCON 3 stage of the Cold of 2008. I had a just a sore throat, now it’s sore AND scratchy, a runny nose, and on the way home from work I started getting a headache. Now at 8 pm in the evening I’m freezing my ballz off! But because of my Scorpio stubbornness I refuse to shut the windows, turn on the furnace or put on pants. This cold will not force me to change my routine! I will not be told what to do by some stupid cold. If I do then the terrorist have won. But if the coughing starts or if I start to get tightness in my chest cavity then and only then will I take some OTC medicine.

Cuz I’m awesome like that.

Play that I am well by this weekend. I have some family fun on Saturday, its Sophia’s Birthday party.

It startes at 4 so get there early for a good seat for the KU game. You know you K-Staters want to watch it.

As I said complained before I’m sick and have been for a couple of days. I’ve been taking Nyquil at night and Day quill during the day. But I just can’t seam to get rid of this chest cold. I missed work because of it on Monday but was at work today and fully expect to be there tomorrow.

I’m sorry to tell you that at the risk of infecting all of my fellow KC Bloggers, I may not attend. It’s not because I don’t like any of you. No really its not, it’s only because I don’t want to infect any of you with my sickness. Then have to hear you yell at me about it next week when you’re sick. I get yelled at enough by my mother.

(Btw, she does not know about my car issues and she doesn’t need to know about them.)

Unless our resident head nurse brings gallons of hand sanitizer or surgical gloves and a full surgical outfit for me to wear.

This really sucks too cause I’m rockin a new hair did, that I got last week. It’s a cross between Kid n’ Play and George Michael from Wham. It’s pretty sweet.

It’s going to be a game time decision.

As per The Man Rule Book rule 345098.1583 sub section Q, appendix H,

  • “All men are allowed to complain about any type of sickness, which may or my not be real or imagined. No matter of the severity of said sickness.”

I spent the whole day on the couch going in and out of consciousness. Freezing one minute, and sweating like a turkey on thanksgiving the next. My chest feels like it’s in a vice. My throat hurts constantly. My eyes are watering like someone drilled a whole in Hover Dam. My nose is running like Steve Prefontaine. I’m just completely miserable.

  • If anyone has ever see that new show called Welcome to the Captain, on CBS. I beg of you please stop watching it, it’s the worst show ever! But at least they have some decent looking chicks so that might save it.

Back to my sickness.

I started feeling bad Saturday afternoon, then from there on it’s gotten worse and worse. I’m at the point now that I wish  someone would make me a pitcher of Harvey Wall Bangers so I could get hammered and not worry about how bad I feel.

  • Watching the Oscars last night was complete toucher. I wonder if they made the detainees in Gitmo watch it? Because they should have, would have squealed like a stuck pig. Don’t cha know?

I am currently chugging both Nyqill and DayQuill and listening to Tony Bennett. Does anyone have any other recommendations, for LEGAL drugs that I could get over the counter?

  • Since last Thursday I have had 2 people tell me that I need to do some redecorating in my bathroom and my living room carpet. And I’m all NO SHIT SHERLOCK! And who EXACTLY is going to pay for all this work that OTHER people what to do on my house?
